Founded in 1836 as the first college in the world for women, Wesleyan College offers an education that leads to lifelong intellectual, personal, and professional growth. Our academic community attracts those with a passion for learning and making a difference.
Wesleyan’s peaceful setting, complete with scenic Foster Lake, has the charm of a historic suburban campus. But our campus is just minutes away from the vibrant downtown nightlife of Macon. At Wesleyan, you get the best of both worlds. Macon is also home to three other colleges, plenty of restaurants, night spots, theaters, coffee houses, and events where you can meet other students. Wesleyan sponsors joint community service projects with Mercer University, Georgia College and State University, and Middle Georgia State College. What better way to make new friends than to work side-by-side for a worthwhile cause? (By the way, those schools are coed. Yes, there are boys around in case you were worried.) Because Macon is smack-dab in the middle of the state, there are a great number of attractions within an easy driving distance. Visit Atlanta and see Centennial Olympic Park, the site of the 1996 Olympics, go to a Braves game, or connect with students from Athens all the way to St. Simons Island.
