Overview

McGuffey readers are a famous series of textbooks widely used in the USA between the 1840s and 1960s to teach reading. Beginning with the alphabet in the Primer, the student will progress through the Sixth Reader, which includes compositions by Charles Dickens, Benjamin Franklin, Thomas Campbell, and Ralph Waldo Emerson, to name a few. These editions are revisions of the originals.
