Overview

McGuffey readers are a famous series of textbooks widely used in the USA between the 1840’s and 1960’s to teach reading. Beginning with the alphabet in the Primer, the student will progress through the Sixth Reader, which includes compositions by Charles Dickens, Benjamin Franklin, Thomas Campbell, and Ralph Waldo Emerson, to name a few. This version is a reprint of the original readers, published in 1836.
