Overview

Named for the idea that you spend five days in a row using a children’s book as the main theme, Five in a Row is a literature-based curriculum that covers social studies, character, language arts, art, math, and science concepts. Volumes 1-3 are at the same level and can be used in any order, with the fourth volume being slightly more difficult. A cookbook as well as a Christian character and Bible supplement are available separately, and while some concepts are discussed within the lessons, a complete phonics and math program is also recommended. Before Five in a Row is a gentle introduction for younger children, while Beyond Five in a Row is intended for grades 3-7 and uses longer books over multiple weeks.
